LOCAL RULES

Out of Bounds (Rule 18)

A ball is out of bounds if it comes to rest

  • Beyond the course perimeter marked by a boundary fence or line of white markers
  • Behind and to the left of the 1st Tee area
  • Beyond the white posts to the rear of 2nd green
  • Beyond the white posts along the left of the 3rd hole, beyond the white posts between the 3rd and 4th fairways (only when playing the 3rd hole) and beyond the fence at the rear of 3rd green
  • On the practice area to the left of the 7th fairway
  • Beyond the line of white markers between the 10th and 11th holes (only when playing the 10th hole)
  • On the practice area to the left of the 16th fairway
  • Beyond the white posts on the left of the 17th hole and to the rear of the 17th green
  • Beyond the fence on the right of the 18th fairway and green
  • On the bowling green at the rear of the 18th green
  • Beyond the white posts to the rear of 2nd green
  • Beyond the white posts along the left of the 3rd hole, beyond the white posts between the 3rd and 4th fairways (only when playing the 3rd hole) and beyond the fence at the rear of 3rd green
  • On the practice area to the left of the 7th fairway
  • Beyond the line of white markers between the 10th and 11th holes (only when playing the 10th hole)
  • On the practice area to the left of the 16th fairway
  • Beyond the white posts on the left of the 17th hole and to the rear of the 17th green
  • Beyond the fence on the right of the 18th fairway and green
  • On the bowling green at the rear of the 18th green

Abnormal Course Conditions (including immovable objects) (Rule 16)

There is free relief (1 club length, no nearer the hole) if any of the following interfere with stance or swing but not when in a penalty area:

  • Any green or temporary green other than the one in play
  • Any bells, seats/benches, dustbins, water sprinklers, sleepers forming bridges over penalty areas and all pathways throughout the general area of the course
  • Any ball at rest within 1 club length of a winter tee
  • Any painted stakes which indicate:
  • 150 yards to centre of the green (blue)
  • Penalty areas (yellow or red)
  • Out of bounds (white), but only when playing holes to which they do not relate
  • In the water tank compound, or within a club length of the surrounding fence, between the 3rd and 4th holes (note, a ball inside the compound must be identified before relief can be taken)
  • A ball at rest in any general area that has been damaged by a vehicle or animal (except worms & insects)
  • A ball at rest in any general area where water can be seen when a stance is taken
  • Any GUR areas defined by encircled ropes or white lines

Penalty Areas (denoted by red or yellow stakes) (Rule 17)

  • The open ditch in the wooded area between the 3rd and 4th fairways
  • The open ditches crossing the 5th fairway, to the left of 6th fairway and across the 16th fairway marked by either red or yellow stakes
  • The drainage ditch to the left of the 12th fairway
  • A ball lying within a penalty area may be played as it lies, or appropriate relief may be taken under penalty of one shot.
  • A ball is deemed to be lost if it has not
    been found and identified within 3 minutes
    from when the player or their caddie starts searching for it
  • Penalty for breach of local Rule:
    Match Play = loss of hole
    Stroke Play = 2 strokes.
