Brent Valley Hole 1
HOLE ONE

A relatively straight forward par four to start. Beware of the long rough on the left-hand side for the longer drivers, while there is also a green side bunker which can cause you problems if your approach shot is aimed too far left.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 332 9
4 308 9
4 299 9
PRO TIP
A gentle opening hole from a raised tee. Avoid going right into the residential area but allow for the right to left fairway camber that can help your ball bounce left.

Brent Valley Hole 2
HOLE TWO

One of the longer holes on the course due to its elevation. With thick rough 150 yards from the tee, for the shorter hitters it might be worth laying up. There is a long bunker along the left side of the green which makes it a tricky approach. Once you're on the green, the elevation makes it vital not to leave your second or third shot short as a sweeping right to left putt up hill will be waiting for you.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 362 5
4 355 5
4 351 1
PRO TIP
Be sure to carry the diagonal humps from the tee, going more to the left side is a shorter carry! Club up 1.5/2 clubs for the approach shot up the slope to the green. It is, however, important to leave your ball below the hole to save a treacherous putt on the very sloping green complex.

Brent Valley Hole 3
HOLE THREE

Hole three is 350-yards long, par four and downhill. Longer hitters must miss two fairway bunkers to the left and right. The green undulates, making it a tricky putt for even for the most advanced golfers.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 362 13
4 349 13
4 340 13
PRO TIP
A fairly straightforward hole from a raised tee but make sure to carry the ditch. A small and flat looking green, but it houses some tricky breaking putts.

Brent Valley Hole 4
HOLE FOUR

A short par three, but this hole does have its difficulties. A large bunker to the left can cause issues depending on the hole location. As the green is on a down slope, golfers must try and land their ball softly or risk the ball going off the back.

PAR YARDS STROKE
3 127 17
3 125 17
3 121 17
PRO TIP
The first of five par 3s and also the shortest. Don’t let this fool you though, as club choice is vital to carry the bunkers short of the green but also not to go too long into the bushes just a few yards behind the green!

Brent Valley Hole 5
HOLE FIVE

This long par 4 is one of the hardest holes on the course due to its length with trees along both sides of the fairway. If you miss the fairway to the right, you also run the risk of ending up in a drainage ditch. The green is surrounded by bunkers, making for a challenging approach.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 440 3
4 431 3
5 427 7
PRO TIP
The first of the two longest holes at Brent Valley, the fifth is a straight hole that requires well struck shots to reach the green in two, or even three for the shorter hitter. The fairway can provide some tricky lies with links-like undulations.

Brent Valley Hole 6
HOLE SIX

Number one on the stroke index, this is the longest hole on the course. Beware of ditch that runs along the fairway around 200-220 yards from the tee.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 446 1
4 425 1
5 419 3
PRO TIP
No respite in length as you now play Brent Valley’s longest hole. Beware the out of bounds on the left and the generous green that can add one or two more clubs to your approach subject to the pin location.

Brent Valley Hole 7
HOLE SEVEN

This challenging par 3 presents various challenges, the first of which is to get your tee shot over the river Brent. There are also various bunkers placed around the green and dense foliage to the right-hand side.

PAR YARDS STROKE
3 163 15
3 154 15
3 148 15
PRO TIP
After two lengthy holes, it’s back to a par 3. Playing over the River Brent, the green is well guarded with bunkers so be sure to select your club wisely!

Brent Valley Hole 8
HOLE EIGHT

This dog leg left par four is trickier than it seems, with dense rough and towering trees on the left-hand side. You must decide to navigate around or over to avoid these hazards. One of the smallest greens on the course, is also elevated, and requires you to make an accurate approach shot.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 291 11
4 280 11
4 264 11
PRO TIP
A short par 4 but not easy! If you have a big draw (or fade for lefties) then a ‘sling’ around the tall, mature trees will leave a short wedge approach, otherwise it’s a more traditional dogleg strategy! A small green too, so approach shots need to be accurate.

Brent Valley Hole 9
HOLE NINE

The last hole on the front nine has three fairway bunkers placed to catch out most driven tee shots. If you miss these bunkers to the right, you will be blocked off by numerous trees.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 370 7
4 358 7
4 347 5
PRO TIP
A mid-to-long par 4 to see out the front nine. Carry the three cross bunkers and a reasonably generous fairway awaits. Don’t go long with your approach as there’s not much room over the back section of the green, which is another tricky one to read.

Brent Valley Hole 10
HOLE TEN

We start the back nine with a tight tee shot with trees on the left, the fairway itself is situated on a sloping hill meaning golfers must try and keep their tee shot up the left-hand side. For the longer drivers, there’s also a drainage ditch that runs across the fairway. Bunkers along the right-hand side of the green create their own risk and, when paired with a heavily sloped green makes this one of the harder holes on the course.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 346 6
4 340 6
4 331 2
PRO TIP
A mid length par 4 that is all in front of you. Be mindful of the ditch at around 240 yards and a slightly raised green adding a little extra distance to your approach shot.

Brent Valley Hole 11
HOLE ELEVEN

Hole 11 presents its own challenges. This dog leg par four requires golfers to navigate ditches, trees and heavy rough. You either go for it or play conservatively, there isn’t an in-between!

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 334 10
4 308 10
4 282 8
PRO TIP
Although only stroke index 10, most Brent Valley members will claim this is the trickiest hole! Don’t go to the right off the tee as out of bounds awaits. Also, be sure to hit the correct distance from the tee to get past the tall, mature trees and leave a short distance approach. To finish, there’s a small green that runs from front to back.

Brent Valley Hole 12
HOLE TWELVE

Another deceivingly difficult hole. It’s relatively short, however the small green is enclosed around four steep bunkers.

PAR YARDS STROKE
3 160 14
3 142 14
3 127 18
PRO TIP
Now for back-to-back par 3s! This one is short-to-medium length but has a very narrow and long green, well guarded by bunkers, so accuracy is at a premium!

Brent Valley Hole 13
HOLE THIRTEEN

The longest par 3 on the course, the tee shot can be intimidating for those new to the course due to the narrow space between the tree line. When you make it to the green, you are greeted with an undulating green.

PAR YARDS STROKE
3 206 12
3 192 12
3 176 12
PRO TIP
The longest par 3 at Brent Valley, a narrow gap through some trees greets the tee shot before finding a large green. You can run the ball into this green if necessary which houses subtle but consistent break’s.

Brent Valley Hole 14
HOLE FOURTEEN

Brent Valley's signature hole: a pond with a huge oak tree and the church spiral behind sets the scene. A long drive up the left-hand side is preferable to avoid being blocked by the oak tree. Your approach shot needs to be accurate and a correct club selection is key to avoid the water. One of the larger greens on the course, but the trickiest.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 367 2
4 349 2
4 332 4
PRO TIP
A solid par 4 that requires some thinking from the tee. Playing left of or laying back of the large tree guarding the green about 20 to 25 yards short of the green gives more a view of the green and flag. Also beware the water hazard around 20 to 25 yards short the green!
15 of 18
15 of 18
Brent Valley Hole 15
HOLE FIFTEEN

An 18 on the stroke index, this short par 4 offers a chance to get a couple of shots back. The longer driver can reach the green with their first short offering a chance of an eagle! Once on the green, you should have a relatively straight forward putt as the green is situated on the flattest part of the course.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 277 18
4 265 18
4 250 16
PRO TIP
A drivable par 4 for the longer hitter, but be sure not to go right (the further up you play the hole) or long, as you’ll find the boundary bush! A fair sized and subtle green gives a chance to roll one in for a birdie.

Brent Valley Hole 16
HOLE SIXTEEN

Hole 16 is a tricky par 3 with two bunkers situated before the green and another to the right of the green.

PAR YARDS STROKE
3 172 16
3 161 16
3 142 14
PRO TIP
The fifth and final par 3, make sure you carry the two font bunkers 30 yards short of the green. A long green that could be a club more lengthwise if the hole is at the back of the green.
17 of 18
17 of 18
Brent Valley Hole 17
HOLE SEVENTEEN

With out of bounds on the right and with two ditches running along the fairway its vital to keep your first shot down the middle. The approach shot needs to be calculated as going long leaves you a difficult chip on to the green, missing the green to the left or right means you’ll be in the sand.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 378 4
4 366 4
4 313 10
PRO TIP
A raised tee but don’t go to the right as the adjacent 18th is out of bounds, but also be careful not to get too far left on to the practice ground. A very narrow green that has more of a break than you think!
18 of 18
18 of 18
Brent Valley Hole 18
HOLE EIGHTEEN

The 18th is straight up the hill (just what you want after 17 holes). If you go right, you'll run the risk of going out of bonds or running in to one of the various drainage ditches located around the course. Once you’re on the green you are presented with a double shelved green meaning this is one of the more testing putts, you’ll face all day.

PAR YARDS STROKE
4 367 8
4 354 8
4 338 6
PRO TIP
Homeward bound with a narrow tee shot! Again, like the 17th, don’t go right off the tee and avoid the out of bounds. Your approach shot plays up the same slope as the second hole, so add 1.5/2 clubs to find the two-tier putting surface, of which you need to be sure to be on the correct level!
