OUT OF BOUNDS. (RULE 18)
A ball is out of bounds when-
(a) It is over any hedge, fence or boundary marking the perimeter of the course.
(b) It is beyond any white posts or markers defining OOB.
(c ) Beyond the protection fences on the 1st, 12th and 13th (sides are determined as shortest line between protection fence and boundary fence)
(d) The practice area, driving net & putting green near reception are OOB
ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS.(RULE 16)
“Model local rule F-9” If there is interference with the lie of the ball or the players area of intended swing from exposed tree roots in the general area cut to fairway height or less then the player may take relief under Rule 16.1b but relief is not allowed if the tree roots only interfere with the players stance.
The following are Abnormal Course Conditions anywhere on the course unless the ball lies in a penalty area. Free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1
Bridges.
All paths and roads, including those not artificially surfaced.
Holes or ruts made by greenkeeping staff or player buggies.
All parts of the watering system, sprinkler heads, inspection covers
Ground under Repair whether marked or not.
Fixed fencing including protection fencing but not boundary/perimeter fencing.
Areas in bunkers where sand has been removed by the movement of water resulting in deep furrows through the sand (free relief within the bunker)
Young Trees.
Each area of closely planted trees (with green plastic protection) on either side of 9th, 10th and 11th fairways and the right side of 12th fairway are no play zones, as according to Rule 16.1f. If it is known or virtually certain that your ball lies within one of these areas then the player must take relief.
Free relief as Rule 16.1b by dropping the original ball or another ball in this relief area
Reference Point: The nearest point of complete relief in the general area.
Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point: One club-length, but:
Must be in the general area,
Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point, and
There must be complete relief from all interference by the no play zone
MOVEABLE OBSTRUCTIONS AND LOOSE IMPEDIMENTS
Take relief under Rule 15.
WRONG GREEN (RULE 13 1.f)
Temporary greens are included under this rule, take free relief according to the rule.
PENALTY AREAS (RULE 17)
All ditches, whether containing water or not, are red penalty areas. The margin of the area is defined by the upper edge of the sloping sides, or red posts.
HOLE 18.

Consider the 18th Green as an island surrounded by a penalty area. The area to the right of the 18th fairway is a penalty area.The margin of the area is defined by the upper edge of the sloping sides, or red posts and extends to the path in front of the perimeter fence on the right marked as Out of Bounds OOB. The paths around the green, and beyond, are also part of the penalty area. The diagram defines the penalty area around the green to the perimeter fence at the right side of the green.
Options available when in the penalty area are:
Play the ball as it lies or
Take relief using the drop zone provided. The ball must be dropped within 2 club’s length of the marker defining the drop zone.
Free relief is available when the ball lies in the general area around the green and the player’s swing or stance is affected by fencing including the fencing defining the penalty area. Nearest point of relief plus within 1 club length, no nearer the hole.
Out of Bounds OOB is defined as the perimeter fence on the right hand side and the Putting Green area (top right).

Loss of hole in match-play.
Two strokes in stroke-play.
