These lessons take place in a relaxed environment within our swing room and are inclusive to all abilities of player.
We also run a flourishing Junior Academy that provides group lessons to over 150 junior students every week. Our academy also organises showpiece competitions to showcase the talents of our up-and-coming stars.
Other Lesson offerings include informative and fun adult group sessions, these cater for all levels of player.
Our outreach work plays a vital role in our mission to support the local community. By offering lessons in local schools and facilitating group disability sessions, we strive to empower individuals at the grass roots level and promote inclusivity.
Nick Murtagh
I have dedicated almost two decades of my life to playing in Professional events and teaching others. Once my competitive days were behind me, I committed myself to becoming a PGA Teaching Professional, Throughout my journey, I have been incredibly fortunate to play alongside and learn from some of the most accomplished Professionals in the world. Their guidance has provided me with priceless knowledge, tips, and insights, inspiring me to establish a platform where I can share this wealth of information with others.
My coaching services cater to a diverse range of players. Whether you are a beginner just starting your golfing journey or an experienced player with a low handicap seeking meticulous improvements to elevate your performance and lower your scores, I am here to help.
When it comes to teaching, I prioritize the individual over any specific method. My approach focuses on ensuring that the fundamentals are correctly applied, using factual data from my Trackman Launch monitor to precisely measure a player’s swing.
In order to optimize the learning process and enhance understanding, each client will receive a personalized swing video with voice analysis. This video will be uploaded to their own secure locker on my website, allowing for progressive changes to be easily observed over the course of lessons and over time.
Junior Golf is an area that I am particularly passionate about. I believe in introducing children to golf at the grassroots level, making the game accessible, engaging, and above all, fun.
Rhys Ap Lolo
I turned professional in golf in 1997. As an amateur, I was a successful county player and a member of the Wales junior team in 1994 and 1995. Before starting at Downshire Golf Complex in Bracknell in 2005, I worked at several golf clubs including Shrewsbury GC, Northop Country Park GC, Basingstoke Golf Centre, Alresford GC and Sandford Springs GC. I still enjoy competing and achieving wins as a player.
As a coach, I have developed extensive knowledge in all aspects of golf. I instruct players of all skill levels, from complete beginners taking their first swings to single digit and scratch handicappers looking to refine their games for more consistency and reach their potential.
My focus is always on helping you comprehend your swing and how it functions. I utilize launch monitor data and swing videos to create this understanding, but there is much more to golf than just a textbook swing. Developing sound pre-shot routines and mental approaches is a big part of making your game more reliable and consistent.
I am always eager to continue learning. I regularly attend professional seminars and courses to expand my knowledge and delivery of instruction
Junior golf is also a passion of mine. It’s very important to me to grow the game and keep it thriving for future generations. The junior academy welcomes all skill levels and ages. With great facilities, I deliver engaging and enjoyable instruction, which is vital for keeping kids excited about learning this great game.
