HOLE ONE

The first hole is a straight par 4. Teeing off uphill to an unsighted fairway, use the lone tree on the left of the fairway as a reference. Any shot to the right of that will be in the optimum position to reach the green in two. Your second shot will be playing downhill to the green, avoid the right off the green as missing right will put you on a steep downslope.

HOLE TWO

A short par 3 hole, teeing from an elevated position and playing across the first holes green. Don’t play this too long as you there is a close hedge line behind the green that will hamper you. This requires a good judge of distance as the green is short but wide with very little run off around it.

HOLE THREE

A tricky par 5 awaits. Teeing off from a setback box, your will be shooting down a corridor of trees to a fairway that out of view. This may not be the right hole for the driver if you don’t have full control as there are dense trees either side of a thin fairway. The second half of the hole opens up as you play towards an elevated green protected by two bunkers either side of the front edge.

HOLE FOUR

The fourth hole is a par 4 dog leg right. The unsighted green is tucked away behind the thick tree line, guarded by trees and bunkers. The green is in line with the trees on the right edge of the fairway. it’s tempting to cut the corner and shorten the hole but with two bunkers and trees around, there is a lot of risk with little gain. The safer play would be playing to the corner and having a straight run at the green.

HOLE FIVE

A straight par 4 playing from an elevated tee to a split fairway. A brook runs across the fairway in the mid iron range so proceed with caution if laying up. Golfers using a driver will need to avoid the fairway bunker short of the green. Miss the green left or right and you will be playing from one of the three bunkers.

A 3 wood or hybrid is a safer play, clearing the ditch but not making the bunker.

HOLE SIX

A tee that overlooks the wide inviting par 4 fairway. Playing from a high tee position, it’s an opportunity to put a dent into the yards as the fairway starts to increase in elevation. Play into the middle of the fairway, keeping to the left of the single tree in the fairway. The green is on a raised area requiring a good approach into the large open green. Playing the approach short will risk going into the bunker at the front of the green or it potentially running back down the fairway.

PRO TIP
The approach to the green will play longer than you think. Go longer than leaving it short.

HOLE SEVEN

A reachable par 4 that offers an opportunity for a birdie or better. Teeing from a raised platform, the fairway opens into a wide target. A small gathering of trees lines the right edge of the fairway with a lot of light rough to the right. Nestled in a wooded area behind and supported by two small bunkers either side, the green is in two tiers, playing to the tier where the flag is will save you a shot or two.

HOLE EIGHT

the long downhill par 4 with a well-protected green is the hardest hole on the course. Viewing the fairway from the tee it appears to be very thin. Hidden behind the trees on the left is the other side of the fairway. Running down the spine of the fairway is four trees. For the best approach to the green, you can carry the trees on the left playing into the left of the fairway but risk of running into the rough. The safer route is down the right of the fairway but gives you a tricker shot into the green.

HOLE TEN

Starting the back 9 is a dog leg right par 4. The uphill tee shot needs to be kept to the right of the tree lone tree in the fairway to avoid the risk of running into the rough. The wide, inviting green allows some forgiveness left and right. This isn’t a green to overshoot as you a heavy tree line boarders the back of the green.

HOLE ELEVEN

Starting from a lower tee you are playing up into a wide fairway. The flag isn’t visible from the tee but get it up the middle of the fairway for a straight run to the flag. The narrow front of the green boarders the small bunker on the right to open into a wider putting surface behind.

HOLE TWELVE

Staring down the 300+ yard straight par 4 hole. Distance and positioning off the tee will really open the approach on your second shot. The green is tucked to the right, nestled in the trees. Keeping your tee shot to the left of the fairway, will allow for a less hazardous shot into the green. Positioned on a raised bank, surrounded by trees and a single bunker doesn’t allow for much room for error.

HOLE THIRTEEN

A dog leg left par 4 requires good shot selection and accuracy from the tee. Playing down the left-hand tree line to the curve you will want to miss the bunker on the right side of the fairway. Use the wider areas of the fairway to give yourself more room for error and avoid the rough. The key to this hole, is not distance but good placement. From the fairway you have a good run into the open green. With minimal hazards and a large flat surface, this allows you to attack the green.

HOLE FOURTEEN

Hole 14 is a dog leg left with a fairway that narrows as you go further down the hole. The fairway starts just before the corner, and it is the widest target for this hole where all three spurs meet. Avoid playing too close to the treeline on the left as it starts to come back on you before the turn. A good visual aim point is the single tree in the distance.
A tricky slender green to play too, with a steep banked bunker on the left and trees guarding the green on the right and back. Use the tree in the fairway as a reference and play to the right side to avoid the difficult hazards.
The safest play on this hole is playing from the tee to the corner then another mid iron to the green. The risker play is to go over the trees on the left, cutting the corner and giving yourself a wedge into the green. The trees are thick if you get that wrong…

HOLE FIFTEEN

The easiest hole on the course as suggested by the stroke index. The narrow corridor of trees guides your shot towards the green. Any shots outside the path will be swallowed by high tree line. The green sits proudly on top of the hill with the only hazard being the deep treeline behind the green.

HOLE SIXTEEN

A long carry to reach the fairway of this par 5, playing through a passage lined by trees. The start of the fairway is indicated by a red and white marker and make a for a good aim point. The fairway does have a slight, left to right roll and be cautious not to hit the deep rough down the left side. The fairway is wide, making a good target for your tee shot.
In the distance there is a ditch running across the green and could hamper the second shot if playing conservatively from the tee, which leaves you with two options, either to play it short or shorten the approach to the green and attack the second half of the fairway.
The large green is inviting and allows for some compensation for misplaced shots. The front edge of the green is protected by two bunkers ready to collect any wayward shots.

HOLE SEVENTEEN

A straight par 3 awaits, playing to an elevated green, this tricky par 3 plays longer than what it is. The large green is a wide target to aim for, sloping from back to front its better to be short of the flag to avoid a difficult downhill put that can get away from you.

HOLE EIGHTEEN

Finishing with an uphill dogleg left par 4. Using the telephone pylons in the distance as an aim point to set yourself for the approach to the green. The fairway widens towards the green and rolls left to right. Both your tee shot, and approach will come up shorter than the distance.
The large green is difficult to navigate as it’s a two tier green with a large ridge running across the green.
